About Badmatidaran — EST. 2025
Badmatidaran is a bilingual publication dedicated to Armenian history, culture, and heritage. We publish research-based articles, essays, and opinion pieces, and preserve archival materials that help document Armenian life and experience. Our goal is to make serious historical writing accessible to a wider public and to encourage thoughtful and new perspectives.
The name Badmatidaran comes from the Armenian words for history and observatory. We think of Badmatidaran as an Armenian history observatory: a place to look closely at the past, to study it, preserve what remains of it, and make Armenian history easier to explore and understand.
